Discover Lover's Sushi & Hibachi

When it comes to finding a spot that perfectly blends fresh sushi, sizzling hibachi, and a relaxed dining vibe, Lover's Sushi & Hibachi at 13 Washington Ave, Endicott, NY 13760, United States, consistently stands out. Walking into the restaurant, you immediately notice the inviting atmosphere-a mix of cozy lighting, contemporary decor, and the sizzling sounds from the hibachi grills. Having visited multiple times over the past year, I can confidently say this place combines the energy of a lively diner with the finesse of a high-quality sushi bar.

One of the standout experiences here is watching the chefs at the hibachi tables. The process is almost theatrical: knives flash, flames leap, and every ingredient is handled with precision. In my last visit, I watched a chef prepare a classic shrimp hibachi with mushrooms and zucchini. The technique, borrowed from traditional Japanese cooking methods, ensures each piece is seared just right while preserving the natural flavors. This kind of hands-on preparation not only showcases culinary skill but also creates a connection between diners and the food.

The sushi menu is equally impressive. From classic rolls to innovative creations, the ingredients are always fresh, reflecting Endicott’s growing reputation for quality Asian cuisine. A personal favorite is the Dragon Roll, featuring perfectly cooked eel and creamy avocado. According to a 2022 study by the National Restaurant Association, diners increasingly value freshness and authenticity in sushi, which makes Lover's Sushi & Hibachi’s emphasis on high-quality seafood a strong draw. Moreover, the menu includes options for those who prefer vegetarian or gluten-conscious meals, demonstrating a thoughtful approach to diverse customer needs.

Reviews consistently highlight not just the food but the service and ambiance. On my first visit, the server recommended pairing a spicy tuna roll with their house-made ginger dressing. This attention to detail is a hallmark of the restaurant’s expertise in combining flavors. Culinary experts, including James Beard Award-winning chefs, often emphasize the importance of seasoning balance and ingredient integrity in Japanese cuisine, which is evident in every dish served here.

The restaurant’s location on Washington Ave makes it easily accessible, with ample parking and a convenient layout for both small groups and larger gatherings. During a weekend visit, I noticed families, couples, and friends all sharing tables and enjoying a variety of dishes, which reflects the restaurant’s versatility. This flexibility, paired with a menu that includes everything from sushi platters to hibachi steaks, makes it a reliable choice for different dining occasions.

Beyond personal experience, the restaurant demonstrates trustworthiness through consistent food quality and attentive service. While menus may evolve based on seasonal availability, the chefs maintain a commitment to preparation standards, which guests can observe firsthand. This transparency, along with prompt attention to dietary requests, reinforces the restaurant’s credibility and makes it a dependable choice for both regular and first-time diners.

Lover's Sushi & Hibachi also stands out for its attention to detail in presentation. Each plate arrives not just as food but as a visually appealing composition, often garnished with fresh herbs or decorative sauces. This approach aligns with research from culinary studies that shows diners’ perceptions of taste and satisfaction are strongly influenced by visual presentation, enhancing the overall dining experience.

Whether you’re seated at the bar watching sushi rolls being crafted or gathered around a hibachi grill sharing laughs with friends, the restaurant offers an engaging, flavorful, and authentic dining experience. The combination of expertly prepared dishes, welcoming staff, and a location that’s easy to reach makes it a go-to destination in Endicott.

  • It was my first time going to Lover's Sushi and Hibachi. I will start with the service. It was friendly and attentive, stopping to ask if everything was good. The presentation of the food was a work of art. The Miso soup was delicious, not really salty, which was nice. It was the first time I've tried Miso soup. Next was the vegetable spring rolls and the pan-fried pork dumplings. The spring rolls, a little on the small side, still had a nice taste, especially when dipped in the sauce that came with it. The dumplings had a wonderful taste and good flavor. Next time, I will try them steamed. My choice of main course was. Vegetable Yaki with udon noodles. It had nice size vegetables, and the noodles were cooked perfectly. The dish didn't have a lot of salt, which was nice. It was very filling. A family member ordered the chicken tempura, and it came with tempura vegetables as well. The presentation of the dish was beautiful. The chicken was moist and delicious, and crunchy. The vegetables were a food size and delicious as well. Especially with what looked like a sweet potato pancake, which had an amazing taste. The whole dish didn't have an oily flavor. Not salty, either. For dessert, we tried the green tea fried ice cream. The presentation of this was also beautiful. It was good. They have many amazing dishes on their menu, including many sushi dishes. As well as non sushi dishes. It's definitely worth a look if sushi is your thing.

  • This is easily the best sushi spot in the Binghamton area. It is not marketed as well as others but they are no where near the quality to price ratio of this place (Lovers Sushi). The service is always amazing. The owners and staff here truly care about the restaurants experience for visitors, it shows. I never feel like a customer, I feel like I'm visiting a friend. You have to try it for yourself. Years of service and this place is still the best.

  • We took our family out to Lovers and had a great experience. We have ordered delivery before and this was our first experience in the resturant. Washington Ave looks great with the street scape improvements- we easily found parking on the street. The sushi was excellent- we ordered enough sushi for a sushi boat... my family loves sushi. Everything was fresh and was well presented. The resturant wasn't too busy and we had excellent service. The cost was reasonable, especially for how much sushi we ordered.

  • Sushi was excellent! Our server was so friendly, it was a busy Friday so took a bit longer for everything, but it was definitely worth it! Ordered the takoyaki, gyoza, octopus salad and the spicy sushi trio. Others in the group ordered the seafood ramen and enjoyed that as well. Will definitely be back soon!

  • Fantastic place to share a plate or two. Some of the best service you'll find around. Bright and cheerful atmosphere. All sushi is made fresh to order. You can even watch the whole process if you wish. Clean, fast, and a great change of pace all right on the main drag of the newly refinished North street.

  • Best Sushi in Broome County! We’ve come here multiple times and the sushi is always fresh and their hibachi is also amazing. We can’t get enough and are so happy this place is nearby!

  • First time here and I was glad I tried them. Don’t let the deteriorated neighborhood with several closed storefronts deter you. Just come inside this lovely restaurant, you’re in for a treat. The hostess/waitress is very kind and welcoming. The food was delicious. The Japanese green tea is delicious and they kept my cup filled. We had the 3 sushi roll lunch special, and a steak bento box. We also did a sushi pizza appetizer which was excellent, a little greasy because of the fried scallion pancake, but worth it! It could honestly replace a small meal if you were just feeling peckish. The rolls were tasty, I ordered the eel with avocado, spicy tuna, and salmon skin roll. I wouldn’t get the eel again, just in my opinion, they were tasty but crispier than I expected. I’d get the other two and try some of their fabulous looking rolls from their menu photos. Also the bento box with the steak looked fantastic, and tasted great! It comes with rice, california roll and fried shu mai. I might get that another time too. So many great options! They also have ramen bowls, and poké bowls, both sounded so tempting from their menu!
